How to update iOS:

Step 1:

Apple Unveils 10 iOS at WWDC 2016 and made it readily available to developers for the iPhone and iPad. As of July 7 public beta is available (the exact time has not passed yet, but hopefully around 18:00 BST).

The following devices can not be upgraded to IOS 10: Original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, Original iPod touch, iPod touch 2nd gene, gene iPod touch 3, iPod touch 4 gene, iPod touch 5 gene, the original iPad. iPad 2, iPad 3.

Step 2 BACK UP:

Before starting the upgrade, make sure your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is fully backed up to iCloud or on your computer via iTunes to perform the update. It is likely that something will go wrong, but if so, you can provide all the data that has changed since the last backup, such as new contacts, documents, photos, videos and much more to lose .

Step 5 iTunes:

If for some reason you do not want to update over the air, you need to connect your device to a computer using iTunes. You need iTunes to the latest version (currently 12.4) prior to update your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. To do this, open iTunes, sign in with the Apple ID with your developer account or the user account registered in public beta and click Check for Updates from the Help menu.

Once you have the latest iTunes, do the following:

Developer:

Go to the Apple Developer website, log in and click Discover, then iOS. Now click on the Download link, scroll down and expand the section iOS. Find the appropriate download for your iOS device and download it. You must then use the Restore iPhone / iPad iOS feature in iTunes 10 on a Mac, hold down the Option key (Shift on a PC) and click the Check for Updates. Select the iOS beta 10 image download. You must make sure that the device is running Xcode iOS 8 Beta before the beta 10.

Home Users:

Connect your device and it has a message to give an available software update. If you do not see it, click on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch in the Devices list. Click the Check for Updates.
